2016 Reunion Attendance

We had a great reunion.  Thanks to all the attendees for making it special. Somehow a number of folks missed the Saturday sign in.  I forgot the sheet Sunday & didn’t tally at the ranch therefore we put together a count from memory.  So please forgive or send a note if you aren’t on the list.  I count 66 Saturday, 43 Sunday & 20 to the Malinowski Ranch.  What’s more, out of 8 possible Antoni/Anna offspring  (No. 9 doesn’t count as Rose only had one adopted son and he had 3 adopted children.  I have spoken to them but they don’t plan on participating) — so out of 8 we had 7 families represented.  Pretty nice.

I am publishing in a separate post, the information Emily & I put together for the Ranch drive the Carossino’s led.  The gate’s locked but some of you may want to take the ride and walk down to the river bottom.  In the photos tab, I am adding pictures of this reunion and of the ranch and our visit.  I got so involved in other things we neglected to get the family group pictures we usually do — so instead, if you took any pictures please send them on for me to share.

I will also be adding to the Talent section of the web site a photo of the lovely driftwood piece I was given of Sharon Hovde’s work, as well as, work by her daughter Shelly McGeatchy.  The sharing of that art by the Hovde “boys” was certainly a highlight of the day.  Included was a miniature log cabin with many pieces of handmade furniture and interior decoration which Shelly had worked on for many years.  This will now be added to the displays at the Amboy Museum, which Jim & Judy Malinowski are very active in.  I’m sure later, when the display is set up, we will get a photo of that as well to add.  Then you can all add a visit to that museum to your lists of fun outings.

This is the second time we have enjoyed this kind of sharing.  Years ago many of us received crocheted potholders, coasters and rag rugs created by Elizabeth Malinowski Rogers.  I still cherish mine, as I’m sure others do.  It’s just one more way to bring the family history alive.
