When Rose Langiewicz worked at the old Morck Hotel she would bring Doris (Davidson White) the small soaps customers left in the room so she could grate them and used them for laundry soap. (Doris reports that it saved money and did a fine job!)
But the real Morck treasure was a photo Rose brought when the hotel was redecorating. It was titled “The Queets Trail”. It has hung for many years as the centerpiece of Doris‘s living room. The picture was taken by Bill Jones on old black and white film but tinted by Elizabeth Malinowski when she worked for his studio. The photo is large probably 30 X 40. Imagine the time it must have taken Beth. I’ve seen the picture before but didn’t realize the history and will look at it with new eyes. Taking a photo with the glass cover was tricky but here is a shot
